Summary: The Expert Program Manager manages and/or administers a company program, a grouping of project work or a special customer offering with an assigned/designated annual financial budget. The incumbent provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting as well as overall process and project management for the assigned program. He / She manages the program budget, which may include developing and presenting the budget proposal.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
  • Minimum Base Salary (California) $116,000.00
  • Mid Base Salary (California) $150,000.00
  • Maximum Base Salary (California) $184,000.00
Responsibilities:
  • Partners with supervisors to conduct and complete incident analysis of incidents and near hits. Ensure the chain of command is notified. Ensure that leadership is notified in a timely manner of any event in the area of responsibility.
  • Provides SME on incidents and provides consultation and guidance on corrective actions. Assists supervisors on the completion of corrective actions.
  • Partners with LOB Functional Area to conduct serious incident analysis.
  • Ensures mutual collaboration with line of business Functional Area and integrates in all levels of the organization in regard to safety (field employees, grassroots).
  • Serves as a liaison between the technical and practical aspect of safety and ensures implementation into the line of business.
  • Frequently shares safety information to all in an impactful and results oriented way.
  • Conducts trending of regional, system, and industry data to understand leading indicators of safety issues and develops plans to address safety issues
  • Communicates safety trends and recommends safety corrective actions.
  • Mentors supervisors on safety process and applicable programs.
  • Creates safety action plans to strategize approach and provide guidance in development.
  • Strategizes approach for LOB Functional Area to measure success in safety measures. Provides strategic actions.
  • Utilizes trending analysis to identify and mitigate actions to correct gaps. Introduce and implement innovative solutions with impact to correct gaps. Communicates opportunities for improvement.
  • Delivers safety training and measures the effectiveness of training. Partners with Learning Academy to improve training quality.
  • Provides guidance on coordinating annual training and training profiling as needed.
  • Serves as a safety / FA SME during training development.
  • Supports compliance with applicable programs (Respirator, hearing, ergo)
  • Serves as a resource for the development, implementation, and sustainability of the various companywide initiatives. (Culture, near hit, grassroots, ergonomics, etc)
  • Conducts gap analysis of Safety programs.
  • Helps develop and implement new safety programs
  • Conducts field and driver observations.
QualificationsMinimum:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of total related experience

  • In depth knowledge of electric utility processes, regulatory requirements, critical success factors, goals and initiatives.
  • Highly skilled at leading project teams.
  • Advanced financial management & budgeting skills and business acumen
  • Expertise in communication, interpersonal/collaboration influence and negotiation and process management.
  • Analytical and creative problem solving, strategic decision making ability.
  • Broad knowledge of project management, process improvement best practices, concepts, methods and techniques.
  • High level organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Advanced presentation skills to effectively convey complex issues to internal and external parties of various levels.
  • May need knowledge of various enterprise resource planning (ERP) system modules
