Medical Drivers work in our Wheelchair Division performing non-emergency transportation. This is a great entry-level position for those looking to start their careers in EMS while training to become EMTs.

While employed full time with us as a Medical Driver, we will provide you with EMT school on the job with a one-year commitment. Once you are licensed as an EMT, we will transition you to working on an ambulance. You will also have the opportunity to continue onto paramedic school paid for by the company after you have gained experience on the ambulance.

Pacific West Ambulance provides 911 ambulances to much of Lincoln County, as well as performing some interfacility transfers from our local hospitals, and providing non-emergency medical transport services. Medical transport drivers are employed full time at 40 hours per week, starting their shifts in Newport or Lincoln City. Ambulance employees work shifts ranging from 12 - 24 hours out of 3 main stations throughout Lincoln County. Every station is equipped a full kitchen, private sleeping quarters, and crew areas with couches, recliners, and TVs.

· Ability to complete EMT course and obtain Oregon EMT license
· Driver License
· BLS for Healthcare Provider
· Ability to pass a background and driving record check
· Desire to learn more about Emergency Medical Services
