Summary: Utilizing project management tools and methodologies, leads the execution of Transmission Line and Substation projects from inception to closeout, managing the scope, schedule and cost. The projects are typically of high technical complexity and risk to the company (i.e., financial, public reputation), include a large number of internal and external parties, and high cost which may need Board of Directors approval. There are typically no direct reports; rather people and other resources are indirectly managed as part of a project team.

Responsibilities:

• Define project scope and objectives
• Establish project team with agreed upon roles and responsibilities
• Obtain commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans
• Obtain management approval as needed
• Ensure project documentation is maintained
• Identify, analyze, and address project performance issues
• Manage the integration of vendor tasks, track and review vendor deliverables
• Communicate project status to all stakeholders
• Assess project risk and develop mitigation and contingency plans
• Manage potential changes to project scope, schedule, and cost
• Identify and communicate lessons learned and best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• BA/BS or equivalent experience in engineering, construction management, or the appropriate technical discipline
• 10 years relevant experience
• PMP certification required

Desired:

• MA/MS/MBA desired
• 12 years related experience with at least 8 years as a project manager
• Ability to work with senior management, building agreement and influencing
• Expert knowledge of projects and technical requirements from relevant PG&E functional area
