Packard Culligan Water is Hiring an Industrial Sales Representative Near Minnetonka, MN

Position: Commercial Industrial Sales Representative

Location: Regional / Field - Responsible for MN region

Position Summary - Utilize solutions-based selling techniques to proactively gain and maintain satisfied customers by providing the best total solution to their water needs in a professional and ethical manner.

Duties and Responsibilities -

Improve customer satisfaction and retention

  • Maintain a professional relationship with contractors, construction managers, business owners, engineers, and other contacts to build referral network.
  • Create innovative presentations, distribute information packets, and prepare marketing packages to capture new customers and/or up-sell to current customers.
  • Evaluate all revenue generating opportunities for a customer or prospect and design customized proposals based on findings.
  • Learn, maintain and apply overall knowledge and technical information as it relates to the sale of all Culligan products and services.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on prospective and regular customers to solicit orders.
  • Maintain relationships and grow the territory.
  • Understand customer’s needs and present viable solutions. Accurately represent capabilities, terms, procedures without distorting dealership policy.
  • Make an effective sales presentation so that the customer is adequately educated about the products and services available.
  • Ensure terms and conditions of sale are clearly understood by customer and accurately documented.
  • Explain billing procedures and what to expect on the bill. Maintain security of all customer information.
  • Clearly and completely document installation instructions and customer requirements (placement of equipment, plumbing arrangements, check for electrical outlet/drain, etc.).
  • Take “ownership” of new customer’s account, follow up with every new customer to ensure complete satisfaction and gain referrals.
  • Actively support a positive team environment that is conducive to the efficient and effective “serving” of our customers; safeguard company assets
  • Maintain open and positive communication with other employees, departments and dealerships, and provide assistance where possible to support company-wide goals to exceed customer expectations.
  • Handle all leads and appointments as scheduled.
  • Know and follow company policies and procedures; identify need for and suggest change when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities.
  • Participate in all promotional activities (fairs, shows, etc.) as required.
  • Attend at least one sales-related training or educational session per year outside of the Culligan programs offered.
  • Help achieve company’s goals
  • Obtain minimum sales standards.
  • Keep abreast of competitive activities in order to increase market penetration.
  • Develop and implement an approved personal creative order program.
  • Plan and prioritize your activities and sales pipeline in order to achieve goals.

Minimum Qualifications -

  • Education - 2 year college degree or equivalent work experience in the technical aspects of the Commercial/Industrial water conditioning industry or similar field.
  • Experience and/or Training - Proven effective communication, customer service mindset, analytical thinking, mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills. Academic or working background in chemical, mechanical, and/or electrical industries strongly preferred. Experience with technical sales.
  • Licenses/Certifications - Valid Driver’s License with proven safe driving history. Maintain WQA Certified Water Specialist (CWS) designation.
  • Technology/Equipment - Sufficient skill with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a personal laptop computer.
  • Other - Must successfully pass background check, drug test, and Motor Vehicle Check. Must be willing to travel 20-40% of the time to out-of-state locations, in metropolitan, suburban and rural areas.
