About The RoleStrategic Sourcing:
  • Identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a stable supply of
essential commodities at competitive prices.
Risk Management:
  • Assessing and mitigating risks associated with commodity price fluctuations, supply chain
disruptions, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes.
Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and efficient
procurement processes.
Cost Optimization:
  • Analyzing cost structures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing
strategies to optimize procurement expenses while maintaining quality standards.
Market Analysis:
  • Monitoring market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical developments to
anticipate changes in commodity prices and supply availability.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as production, finance, and logistics teams to align commodity procurement strategies with organizational goals and requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identifying areas for process improvement, implementing best practices, and driving
efficiency gains in commodity management processes.
Compliance and Ethics:
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, ethical standards, and corporate
governance policies in all procurement activities.
  • Overall, a Strategic Commodity Manager plays a vital role in optimizing the procurement process,managing risks, and ensuring the availability of essential commodities to support the organization’s operations and strategic objectives.
What You’ll Do
  • Handles procurements in accordance with current purchasing processes and routines.
  • Continuously work to reduce risks and dependencies in the range for which I am responsible.
  • Responsible for setting plans and strategies as well as goals for assortment and fulfilment of these.
  • Carry out supplier market analysis and supplier-specific analysis.
  • Ensures continuous access to relevant “benchmarking” within the range.
  • Provides market with relevant information about the ranges.
  • Ensures compliance with agreements entered into.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the supplier development work achieves set goals for quality,
environment, delivery precision and price.
  • Actively contributes to improvement work in our business.
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management roles.
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets, pricing mechanisms, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable
contract terms.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results in
a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Supply Chain
Professional (CSCP) are a plus.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity in all business dealings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

What We OfferThe salary range for this role is 90,000-106,000 USD; however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
