Pafford EMS is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant (Full-time) Near Gulf, MS

Description: The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for the daily administrative and HR related duties of Pafford EMS. The HR Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to both the Human Resources Administrative Team and Pafford EMS Management Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Administrative Team.
  • Ensures continuous staffing including screening candidates, scheduling interviews and making job offers to candidates.
  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Conduct reference and background checks on job applicants.
  • Conduct new hires UKG onboarding documents, orientation activities, background checks, reference checks, completing E-verify, and submit all welcoming information to candidates with effectiveness.
  • Manages collection and filing of employee documents.
  • Manages, reviews and contacts qualified applicants.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using UKG software management system.
  • Provides support to Human Resources Administration and the Pafford Team by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone; relaying messages; maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Schedules and attends job/career fairs as a source to generate qualified applicants.
  • Provides information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants.
  • Corresponds with candidates to notify them of opportunities.
  • Arranges travel and lodging for applicants, if necessary.
  • Conducts the intake and interview process of prospective candidates and internal transfers.
  • Conducts interviews as a first line filter of candidates. May provide initial screening for managers to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements.
  • Responsible for HR administration including, but not limited to HRIS data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Managing FMLA information to ensure employees are placed on/returned from LOA in UKG.
  • Handles leaves of absence (LOA) administration including minimizing potential negative impact of employee mandated leaves. Maintenance of database, tracking of leave and customer follow up.
  • Assists employees with records, employment or training-related questions.
  • Performs various administrative duties required for the assigned role.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • 2 years (minimum) of office experience.

  • Written and interpersonal skills
  • Communication skills
  • Organization skills
  • Computer skills (email, excel, typing skills (at least 45 to 50 wpm)
  • Operate office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, printer telephone, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Mental/Physical Requirements:

  • Mental Requirements: Critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, analysis skills
  • Physical Requirements: Some stooping, bending, lifting files, climbing stairs, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching repetitive motions, sitting, standing and walking.
