Palermo's Pizza is Hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager Near Milwaukee, WI

This role will be a part of the Continuous Improvement (CI) team to provide a common language, process, and metrics across the enterprise. Including regular reviews of performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and strives for operational excellence across all business functional areas by deploying Lean tools and Six Sigma principles. The CI Manager will play an active role in driving accelerated operating and financial performance through continuous process improvement and execution of improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will work closely with the Associate Director of CI & Commercialization and the Operational teams to develop and manage strategic initiatives.
  • Candidate will assume ownership and lead the Continuous Improvement function, together with the Associate Director of CI & Commercialization.
  • Align goals, metrics, and projects to the company’s high 5 initiatives.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly metric progress and communication.
  • Act as a resource to the organization for Redzone and the use of continuous improvement techniques such as the 6-sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing techniques and other improvement methods.
  • Direct the activities of the CI group including their interaction with maintenance function, Operations to drive site wide improvements.
  • Oversee CI development and training, together with the Director of Training Operations; facilitate special CI events activities to drive 6S, plant improvement performance in capitalizing on removing waste and improvement of yield, and production processes.
  • Drives engagement with production personnel to facilitate improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effect change in a manufacturing environment and ensure improvement activity is being communicated, understood, and supported within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups and deliver continuous improvement training.
  • Drive all aspects of the daily and weekly Tier programs throughout the facility.
  • Be an accountability partner with the management team for completion of daily Leadership Standard Work; help team understand the importance.
  • Attend and help drive Gemba Walks; challenge and mentor team to improve effectiveness.
  • Plan, execute, and follow-up on kaizen events.
  • Improve processes and eliminate waste in key constraint areas, as defined by company goals and metrics.
  • C apacity analysis for all work cells.
  • Create and maintain standard work instructions, SOPs, 5S Checklists, and standard work audits.
  • Continue to refine LEAN Philosophy in all department activities.
  • Mentor and train staff on lean concepts and practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree – prefer Engineering or Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience that includes experience facilitating continuous improvement using lean tools and methodology and driving cultural transformations.
  • Communication (Oral & Written) communicates effectively with others using a variety of methods and tools.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to take on challenges where limited standardization exists.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Must be comfortable interacting with, and coaching, individuals at various levels, different languages, and cultures, within the organization with the appropriate level of tact.
  • Must have an extremely high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prefer someone with experience working with multiple facilities simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
  • Coaching and Development - Ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.
  • Leadership - Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively and to be responsible for making decisions.
  • Time Management – Self-directed and self-motivated ability to manage time, multiple priorities, and resources to achieve goals.
  • Organization – Ability to meet tight deadlines in which information accuracy is critical.
