POSITION SUMMARY

This Milwaukee based, in-office position is responsible for setting the overall supply plan for the business; including procurement, finished goods, planning, inventory deployment, internal and external warehousing, transportation/logistics, co-pack production planning and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Provides supply chain leadership to understand the business’ needs (incl. changing market conditions, new business opportunities, and/or cost reduction requirements) and coordinates supply chain activities to meet those requirements. Establishes and maintains strong, performance-driven relationships with suppliers and carriers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Leads and develops the supply chain organization to ensure the function delivers optimum service to its customers.
• Directs, plans, organizes sourcing of materials, purchasing, production planning, inventory management, logistics (outside warehousing) and distribution,
• Plans, directs, and implements transportation program in accordance with established objectives and policies to affect the most economical and effective utilization of facilities and equipment.
• Develops strategic plans for contracting and identifies ways to optimize inventory management. Increases operational efficiencies by means of these contracts.
• Recommends effective use of internal and co-pack assets. Continually monitors and updates these plans based on changing demand forecasts, inventory levels, production outputs, etc.
• Oversees and reviews pricing agreements.
• Analyzes inventories to determine increase inventory turns and reduce inventory waste.
• Oversees production planning and scheduling to ensure availability of materials.
• Monitors forecasts to identify changes to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
• Establishes and monitors appropriate performance metrics to ensure best supply chain practices.
• Understands hedging and positioning strategies and utilizes them as appropriate.
• Demonstrates courage to lead positive change and to develop and retain a high-performing team.
• Evaluate and counsel employees to achieve desired performance outcomes. In collaboration with Human Resources.
• Support and promote all company policies including maintaining company expectations for people and food safety.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS – COMPETENCIES

• Familiarity with all aspects of supply chain from sourcing to delivery to customer specifically related to the food industry.
• Understands Quality Assurance, Food Safety (GMP, HACCP), and Regulatory Compliance (FDA and USDA) requirements as they relate to the supply chain function.
• Extensive knowledge and application of knowledge with ERP systems.
• Extensive leadership responsibility with demonstrated results in developing and coaching staff, strong communication skills, and holding themselves and their teams accountable for results.
• Communication (Oral & Written) - Communicates effectively with others using a variety of methods and tools.
• Problem Solving – Ability to take on challenges where limited standardization exists.
• Organization – Ability to meet tight deadlines in which information accuracy is critical.
