POSITION PROFILE:  

We're looking for an upbeat, team-focused Steward/Dishwasher to help us maintain a clean kitchen, from guest dishware, to cooking equipment and prep stations.

Palihotel San Diego features Saint James French Diner, a restaurant and bar that blends the utilitarian nature of an American diner with the subtle elegance of French bistro cuisine. Our menu is hearty and simple, yet refined by nature, paying homage to roadside food halls in Southern France. It’s shared mussels and a beer in the afternoon and it’s a burger and two martinis at night. It’s sensible, unpretentious, and totally chic! TASKS AT HAND:

• Making sure all cooking equipment, cutlery, china and work stations are clean at all times.
• Working efficiently so all equipment, glassware, flatware, and dishware are properly stocked and ready for service.
• Helping to maintain all equipment, glassware, china and cutlery in order to preserve quality.
• Coordinating with Kitchen Management on cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Collecting and placing produce, proteins and other necessary ingredients in their respective places.
• Sweeping kitchen floors before and after service.
• Cleaning the walk-in fridge and making sure all food storage areas are clean.
• Maintaining the kitchen cleaning schedule.
• Working positively and professionally with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth operation and an enjoyable workplace for all.

• Communicates clearly, professionally and concisely whilst actively listening to others and giving consideration to their needs and opinions.
• Tries to take the bigger picture into consideration and is confident as to when and where to seek guidance and clarity from senior members of the team.
