PALLET SERVICE CORPORATION is Hiring a Machine Operator/Assembler Near Marshfield, WI

Position Summary/Objective

The Machine Operator will perform routine, non-complex assembly tasks in a Pallet manufacturing environment. They will receive raw materials, assemble parts and package finished products. They may also code or label pallets for tracking and inventory purposes.

Job Duties Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

· Evaluates quality of a pallet and lumber making sure it is shippable; takes corrective action as required.

· Inspects and test pallets and lumber as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.

· Pull damaged or faulty items from the production line.

· Check finished product for problems or faults and isolate any damaged or inconsistent item.

· Follow established work procedures and perform work assignments as required to meet all quality and production goals.

Pallet Assembly and Repair

· Builds pallets using automatic nailing machines and hand nail guns.

· Repair used pallets by using a pneumatic nail gun to repair or assemble pallets.

· In a repair department places pallet on a repair table removes defective boards, replace new boards, and nails replaced boards into place.

· In an assembly, the department takes stock boards and nails together based on the type of pallet desired.

· In accordance with work orders, job directions and dimensional drawings retrieve components and/or supplies from a designated area and sets up the work area.

· Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.

· Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Sawline Operator

· Prepares saw and make adjustments as necessary for each work order using hand tools. Perform changeovers between work orders to meet specifications.

· Examines material prior to cutting to determine what cuts will remove defects and product maximum footage.

· Remove finished cores from saw drop table and manually stack them onto pallets, racks, or into boxes.

· Cuts material with precision and identify products as required by job order.

· Cuts wood/wood panels to specific lengths as per work orders.

· Responsible for setup and break down a shaper, planer, and other related standard equipment.

· Changes worn cutting blades and makes minor repairs, using hand tools.

· Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation. Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of material properties.

· Maneuver large pieces of lumber using various tools and equipment.

Accurate Production Reporting

· Ensure proper labeling of finished items and ensure that they are packaged properly.

· Accurately completes appropriate documentation.

· Completes required job control, inventory, and related reports.

Safety

· Responsible for reporting any injuries that take place in the workplace to a supervisor IMMEDIATELY.

· Complies with all PCS and OSHA mandated safety and health guidelines.

· Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures pertaining to a safe and clean work environment using all control points, equipment, and resources.

Required Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

· No experience needed.

· Working knowledge of tape measures.

· Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
