We have imminent opportunities in our Savannah location for experienced forklift and/or reach truck operators with a starting pay rate of $17-$18, depending on experience and equipment knowledge. Responsibilities:

• Must be able to operate a sit-down forklift; 1-3 years' experience
• Must be able to operate a Reach Truck; 1-3 years' experience
• Order Picker
• Order Checker
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Flexible work schedule: to work any hours between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, dependent upon shift, and Saturday's. Work OT as needed.
• Attendance and punctuality are important.
• Must be able to work in a congested area(s).
• RF scanner experience or scanning is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Additional information: not limited to just driving a forklift, you must label, band, stretch wrap, and clean drums and totes. Some restacking of bags and pails will be required.
• Adjust the body to bend, push, pull, stretch, stoop, squat, and grab; walk and sit for extended periods.

• Handling hazardous material is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have 1-3 years of forklift experience in a logistics environment.
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
• Detail-oriented and capable of performing basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

About Palmer Logistics

Palmer Distribution Services, Inc. was started in the mid-1960s by Frank Rifeschlagger as a public warehouse and trucking company servicing the grocery and chemical industries in Houston, TX. The name comes from a street where the first warehouses were located. After William Hermann took over and provided services, he successfully revitalized during the 1980s. In 1988, Hermann Services acquired Palmer as part of an effort to expand its operations regionally. The Palmer name was used for 9 years until 1997, when the division was renamed Hermann Warehouse Southwest, but it was short-lived after the division was renamed in 2000. The Palmer name was restored at this time with a slight change to our current trade name, Palmer Logistics.

Today, Palmer Logistics is a successful regional provider based on the fundamental philosophies that have enabled the Hermann family's success for four generations: reliability, customer service, and uncompromising integrity. Brett Mears, son of the late William Hermann, runs the daily operations as our president.
