Summary
Department: Food & Nutrition
Shift timings: 7:30-16:00. Monday to friday (8 Hours/5 Days)
Per Week: 40 Hours
Role is providing direct patient care within the scope of practice of the RDN role.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Speaking to patients to learn about their health goals and dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions.
- Developing nutrition plans for clients.
- Compiling information and tracking client progress towards their health goals.
- Entering patient information patient database.
- Keeping informed about the latest discoveries in nutrition.
- Speaking to groups to promote healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be registered with CDR and Licensed in the state of Connecticut
Experience preferred but will accept new graduates!
Required SkillsTravel Registered Dietician
- Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their diet plans as needed
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of dietetics
- Utilize your knowledge of physiology to understand the impact of different nutrients on the body
- Provide health coaching to support patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required
- Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in patient assessment, including anthropometric measurements and dietary analysis
- Familiarity with tube feeding techniques and protocols
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations to identify nutritional deficiencies or imbalances
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and its relationship to nutrition
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate and counsel patients
- Ability to provide evidence-based recommendations tailored to individual patient needs
- Proficient in utilizing technology for dietary analysis and meal planning
- Health coaching skills to motivate and support patients in achieving their health goals
