Panagora Group is Hiring a Project Director Near Silver Spring, MD

PanagoraGroup seeks a Project Director for the five-year USAID-funded Localize GlobalHealth Security (LGHS) project.Theproject will work with local partners in priority USAID GHSA countries toaddress critical health security gaps and strengthen global health securitycapabilities as defined in their national health security action plans,contributing to their Global Health Security Agenda 2024 targets.

TheProject Director will provide overall technical direction, leadership, andexternal engagement on project issues, including liaising with subcontractors,USAID missions, host country governments, international organizations, andother USAID implementing partners. They will provide technical support to focusedcountry programs and deliver management oversight, quality control, and resultsin the management of project activities. The Project Director will set apositive tone for the entire project and inspire staff to apply results-basedapproaches for the delivery of quality services. The position is full-time based in the Washington,DC area and requiring periodic travel to high-priority project countries

Thisis a key personnel position and is contingent upon USAID approval.

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision, overall leadership, strategy development,management oversight, and technical direction for large, complex, multi-countryhealth security activities
  • Oversee the overall and direct implementation of projectactivities and liaise with project teams to ensure technical coordination
  • Serve as primary liaison to USAID, implementing partners,host country governments, project stakeholders, and counterparts in the globalhealth security space
  • Lead collaboration and network development activities with national,regional, and global partners
  • Lead the strategic engagement to ensure effectivecountry-level relationships are established with local government ministriesand local partners, international organizations, and others contributing to thehealth security agenda
  • Provide overall leadership and supervision of seniormanagement team, technical and administrative staff, and sub-awardees
  • Oversee program work planning, budget, performancemanagement, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic communications
  • Identify issues and risks related to project implementationin a timely manner and appropriate program adjustments
  • Manage, train, and mentor project staff to ensure seamlesscoordination among activity components, and an internal culture of technicalexcellence and learning.
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of MEL andCLA activities, including development of evaluation tools, data collection andmanagement, report generation, knowledge sharing, and training and capacity-buildingactivities.

Requirements

  • A master's degree or higher degree in social sciences,public health, health administration, international development, economics, oranother relevant field.
  • Leadership experience in addressing global health security,infectious disease prevention, and/or health systems strengthening.
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management, medicine,public health, or other global health security-related field, with at least 3years of experience at a senior-level leadership position on global health orrelated programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading capacity building for localactors, providing capacity building assistance at individual and organizationallevels.
  • Experience collaborating with host country institutions,multi-sector stakeholders, the private sector, other public sectororganizations, and local partners.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;proficiency in the language(s) other than English preferred.
