Corporate Senior Tax Accountant (short-term promotion opportunity!)

$80,000 - $95,000 plus bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
• Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Maintain and update tax rates and taxability matrices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary data for tax filings.
• Provide support and training to staff on sales and use tax matters.
• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong sense of timeliness and ability to manage high-volume transactions.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent writing skills with great attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a structured team.
• Proficient in identifying and resolving complex sales and use tax issues.
• Adaptable to changing tax laws and business requirements.
• Effective communication of tax-related information.

Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting and 4 years tax experience required.
• Transaction tax experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Accounting System, Chesapeake Unclaimed Property Software, or Vertex is a plus.
• Genuine passion for providing excellent work.
