Position Overview
The Athletic Trainer’s overall role is to assist physicians and APPs in direct patient care, in a medical/physician office setting.
Essential Functions
· Evaluates, implements, and coordinates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and patient experience. Collaborates as needed across ancillary departments and acts as a liaison to coordinate patient care.
· Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Assists physician in chart completion including documentation of patient exam, assessment, and plan.
· Assists the physician and advanced practice provider in the prescribed plan of care. Initiates orders for MRI, CT, US, Bone Scans as directed.
· Provides clinical education to patients and families as it pertains to procedures and plan of care.
· Assist with clinic flow, rooming, and day to day operations to provide efficient and quality patient care.
· Assists in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols.
· Provides live phone support and triage support as needed for all incoming patient phone calls within the designated subspecialty.
Pay Information: $18.07 to $27.11
Requirements
• Minimum Required Education: bachelor’s degree. Continuing education in the field.
• Required Licensure/Certification: Certification by National Athletic Association (NATA). Registration with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
• Recommended Experience: 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care.
