As a member of the Communications organization, leads or supports projects by developing a variety of high-end graphics and multimedia products. Consults directly with other departments, team members, management, and external vendors to produce artwork and design elements that reinforce the CNS and Pantex image and support the overall mission. Collects data, source images, copy, and a variety of other digital assets to support visual communications and messaging. Contributes to the design of, and adheres to, the company's branding standards.
- Provide art direction and act as a strategic advisor on overall branding standards and design themes
- Develop template themes, ensuring a creative yet consistent look and feel that enhances readability, draws in the reader, and is tailored to the specific audience
- Ensure brand and visual identity compliance as needed
- Exercise judgment and project management skills to balance priorities, communicate with team members and clients, and meet project deadlines and commitments
- Keep clients and team members informed of projects and progress
- Consistently manage and organize content for workflow and archival purposes through the use of a shared media server
- Perform complex graphic design duties requiring planning, scheduling, and implementation of graphic design products that include, but are not limited to:
- Page layout
- Posters
- Infographics
- Presentations
- Digital signage
- Web wireframes and mood boards
- Motion graphics
- 3D animation
- Custom fabrications for permanent exhibits and displays
- Marketing materials
- Coin design and other recognition materials

- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Fine Art, or relevant disciplinewith5 years or more of working experience as a Graphics or Multimedia Designer; typical relevant experience ranging from 7 to 10 years as a Graphics or Multimedia Designer.
- OR Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience; typical relevant experience ranging from 7 to 10 years as a Graphics or Multimedia Designer.
- OR PhD
- OR Thirteen or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
Additional Requirements:
- Portfolio website demonstrating examples of work
- Department of Energy 'Q' security clearance is required; all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- InDesign
- Proficient skill in designing for MS Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work well in both collaborative and independent environments
