Our networking team is a group of dedicated professionals who work daily to ensure data transport is available to keep the business and mission going. Working in the IT Infrastructure organization in support of the national security mission to maintain the safety, security, and effectiveness of the United States nuclear weapons stockpile, we serve a critical function to identify, investigate and resolve issues while minimizing the business impact. The team works with our network operations center to provide administration and engineering support to any issues identified by the Network Operations Center. We are looking for a solutions architect with a broad skill set in multiple technologies to provide leadership, mentoring, and solutioning for complex IT issues across a variety of technologies including Networking, Cloud, and Servers.
The Solutions Architect position is a limited telework position. Due to the nature of the work and the systems supported, the majority of time will be spent onsite.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
* Provide guidance and evaluation of technology solutions to provide input on technology direction to ensure Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC is utilizing best in class technologies and practices in support of its missions.
* Mentor junior administrators
* Identify areas for improvement, create plans for improvement, work with senior management to implement necessary budgeting and resourcing to execute improvement plan
* Work with IS&S and business partners on cloud-based technologies and how cloud could be utilized as part of solutions.
* Evaluate Cyber Security implications of solutions and technologies
* Applies comprehensive knowledge to facilitate troubleshooting of complex problems or to ensure completion of complex assignments
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Monitors current and future trends in technology which will positively affect organizational projects
* Leads organizational projects as the senior technical resource
* Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, and maintainable
* Works with IT project management organization to deliver solutions on schedule
* Works with cyber security to identify and implement security solutions and security baselines within infrastructure services.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- PhD: Minimum 7 years relevant experience.
- Successful candidates shall have the following technical background
- Windows Server environments
- Must be proficient in design and implementation of an Active Directory Forest.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Exchange
- Networking
- Route/switch design, implementation, troubleshooting
- Firewall experience
- Load balancing with either Citrix Netscaler or F5
- DNS/DHCP/IPAM
- VMWare
- Experience with complex VMWare ESXi environments.
- Unix
- RedHat Linux, Solaris, AIX
- Cloud Services to include IaaS and delivering services in the cloud
- Strong cyber security background
- Understanding of programming/scripting languages such as Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, BASH, Perl, Python, Powershell
- 20 or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive relevant experience will be reviewed and considered for equivalency to these requirements. For postings on the Engineering, Science and IT Ladder, in lieu of a technical bachelor's degree, the Operations Professional Ladder may be considered.
