DHA Overview
The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and a ready medical force to Combatant Commands during peacetime and wartime. Established to enhance the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services, the DHA supports Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and drives the integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS. The agency plays a pivotal role in ensuring military personnel and their families receive comprehensive healthcare, thus maintaining operational readiness and overall force health protection. 
Position OverviewPantheon is seeking an Agile Implementation Coach for a major DHA Innovation Program who will report directly to a Senior Program Manager. This role is responsible for guiding and coaching teams in the adoption and effective implementation of Agile methodologies. The Agile Implementation Coach will work closely with Project Managers, team leads, and stakeholders to foster an Agile mindset and best practices across the program to enhance project delivery and innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Program Manager and support the overall Agile transformation within the program.
  • Coach and mentor project teams, workstream leads, and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Assist teams in developing and maintaining Agile artifacts, including product backlogs, sprint backlogs, and burndown charts.
  • Provide guidance on the effective use of Agile tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Identify and address any impediments or obstacles that hinder Agile adoption and implementation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging teams to reflect and iterate on their processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and workstream leads to ensure alignment of Agile practices with project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to build Agile capabilities and knowledge within the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Agile practices and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Promote an Agile mindset and values across the program, encouraging collaboration, transparency, and customer focus.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Agile coaching or a related role.
  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Excellent coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles, practices, and tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and technology.
Preferred Skills And Experience
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the DoD, Military Health System (MHS) and the DHA is highly desired.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).
  • Experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with the systems development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with large-scale Agile transformations and coaching multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and FDA guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and advancements.
  • Experience with AI/ML a plus. 
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure knowledge or certification(s) a plus. 
  • Active DoD CAC or Active DoD Clearance.

San Antonio, TX - Falls Church, VA - Remote 
  • The Government reserves the right to change where this work will be performed, and light travel may be requested occasionally. Ideal cities and states with access to Government facilities are: Falls Church, VA, Washington, DC, San Antonio, TX, and Aurora, CO
CompensationThe salary range for this position is $115,000 - 130,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
