Our service offerings have grown in the past ten years, including infrastructure resiliency, contact center operations, information technology, software engineering, program management, strategic communications, engineering, and cybersecurity. We have also grown our customer base to include commercial clients. The company has used this experience to expand our service offerings to other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Civilian Agencies.

Position Overview:

Pantheon Data has a need for a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in .NET, C#, and Java to support a critical Federal cloud migration project involving the migration of on-prem applications to the AWS GovCloud. This role is critical in ensuring the successful transition of complex software systems to a secure cloud environment, adhering to the stringent compliance and security requirements of a federal defense client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migration Strategy Execution: Collaborate with system architects and project managers to implement effective migration strategies that ensure a smooth transition of existing applications from on-prem systems to AWS GovCloud.
  • Application Re-Engineering: Redesign and refactor legacy applications written in .NET, C#, and Java to optimize performance, scalability, and security in a cloud environment. Ensure applications are cloud-native where possible and efficiently use cloud resources.
  • Cloud Integration and Deployment: Utilize AWS services to develop, deploy, and maintain applications within the AWS GovCloud. Leverage AWS best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Code Optimization and Troubleshooting: Analyze and optimize existing codebases for better efficiency and compatibility with cloud architectures. Diagnose and resolve issues during the migration process, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure all development practices and deployments comply with federal security standards such as FedRAMP. Implement secure coding practices and participate in security audits and reviews.
  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the development team.
  • Documentation and Technical Leadership: Produce detailed technical documentation related to design choices, code changes, and configurations. Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years in software development, with significant experience in .NET, C#, and Java. At least 3 years focused on cloud-based solutions, specifically AWS GovCloud.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in developing and migrating applications to cloud environments, with a strong understanding of cloud service models and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Security and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with security frameworks and standards applicable to federal projects, such as FedRAMP.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex problems and engineer suitable solutions under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency with modern development tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect is highly preferred.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: Remote-United States
