Job Summary:
The Person in Charge plays in integral role in store operations by ensuring a seamless shopping experience for customers by maintaining an efficient check out process and thorough and accurate cash control methods to maintain the store’s financial integrity. The Person In Charge oversees front end operations by managing and organizing department resources to ensure that customer service and work flow are administered according to company standards. They also perform the important role of resolving customer concerns and inquires in the most positive and customer friendly manner while still following company policies.
Essential Functions of the Position:

• Oversees and manages all front-end operations, including cash registers, customer service and checkout lines, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Trains and supervises front-end staff to ensure adhere to company policies and procedures and maintaining high standards of customer service and profitability through accurate cash control methods.
• Addresses customer concerns and issues providing resolutions that ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to company policies.
• Monitors and maintains inventory levels for the front-end, including supplies for cash registers, bags and customer service materials to ensure availability and operational readiness.
• Coordinates with store management and department leadership to facilitate smooth operations including communication front-end logistical challenges.
• Assists in analyzing sales data and front-end performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement and opportunities for increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Oversees the maintenance and cleanliness of front-end to ensure a positive customer impression at all times.
• Follows, promotes and enforces all money handling procedures including buy backs, 91’s and maintains seamless cash flow integrity through safe and drawer balancing processes.
• Assists cashiers in counting out process by verifying till, all 91’s and final pull as well as providing final reconciliation report and overseeing accuracy of cash drops and reports.
• Follows, promotes and enforces all safety policies and protocols to ensure a safe shopping experience for customers and working experience for employees.
• Friendly and helpful customer service including navigating difficult situations with customers in an effort to diffuse conflict or customer concerns.
• Performs all Combo Clerks duties as needed
• Performs all other assigned duties as required.

Knowledge:

• 1 year Relief Manager or Front end Supervisory experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• General knowledge to identify produce items.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent desired.
• Basic math knowledge required
• Familiarity with SNCR or Encore operating systems a plus.

• Ability to utilize necessary cash handling tools including counterfeit bill detection pens and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Significant portion of shift is spent standing at check stand terminal.
• Must be able to handle grabbing, scanning and lifting customer items as needed.
• Proficiency in 10 key adding machine.
• Ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills, such as using a keyboard, writing, or handling small objects.
• Ability to retrieve customer items from other locations as needed (ie. items locked in liquor case or batteries, etc.)

Work Conditions:

• Standard Work Hours: Vary, Weekend, evening and holiday availability, full time hours typically 8 hours a day.
• Indoor Climate-Controlled Environment: Maintained at a controlled temperature with adequate lighting and ventilation.
• Primary work stations are check stand POS, SCO and count room but may assist throughout store location as needed.
• Dress Code: Professional and presentable attire as determined by store management including name tag, company issued shirts, hats, jackets as needed or personal shirts that are black, burgundy or blue that are not faded and in good repair.
