What is the role?

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our organization, you will report directly to the Controller, contributing to the preparation and integrity of our financial records.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for all areas related to our financial close and general accounting, including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of the company's financial statements. Success in this position requires consistently preparing accurate information in alignment with company deadlines. The Staff Accountant will have regular contact with senior-level executives at Paradigm, requiring strong written and verbal communication skills.

In this role, you will:

• Support the day-to-day management of accounting and finance with a focus on efficient processes
• Be responsible for accounting and bookkeeping including A/P, A/R, month-end journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Build a thorough understanding of our financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Prepare financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Assist with the company's annual financial audit
• Assist with the continuous improvement of our month-end close processes
• Respond to ad hoc inquiries from the Controller and other executives regarding financial results and reporting requests
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting
• Must have strong Excel skills, including report creation, report formatting, charting, and use of common financial functions (vlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, etc.)
• Strong familiarity with accounting principles and financial statements
• Public accounting or audit experience preferred but not required
• Sage Intacct experience is preferred but not required
