Paradise Animal Clinic is looking for a Veterinary Assistant/Technician

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will join a team that provides exceptional pet health care. We are looking for a compassionate assistant to work at our family owned and operated practice in Kalaheo. You will be working directly with pet owners, so excellent customer service is a must.

In this position, you will be supporting our Veterinarians by creating a positive, low stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Responsibilities include, bust are not limited to:

• Assisting in examining and monitoring patients in a surgical and clinical setting
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment throughout the clinic
• Feeding and providing water to animals at regular intervals throughout the day
• Grooming and bathing animals
• Attention to detail to maintain accurate medical records & treatments
• Handling and soothing animals during examinations, treatments, and vaccinations
• Filling prescriptions, Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Advising owners about caring for their animals at home

Successful Veterinary Assistants need a variety of soft skills and technical knowledge to excel in their jobs. Some of the most important skills and qualifications include:

• Animal handling skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks depending on needs
• Good organizational skills
• Computer skills to maintain medical records about animals in veterinary software

Typical Physical Demands:

*Must be able to lift 50 pounds & have the physical ability to restrain large pets as needed.

Scheduling days and hours: M-F 7-4, Sat 7:30-1

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
