Paragone Solutions is seeking a System Security Test Engineer and Assessor to provide information technology security excellence in support of the Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services (FNCS). The qualified candidate will Plan, prepare, and execute tests of systems to evaluate results against specifications and requirements as well as analyze/report test results. This position will be primarily onsite, Monday-Friday during core hours (7:30am-6:00pm) in Alexandria, VA; Occasional remote work will be authorized (ex. inclement weather).*This position is contingent upon contract award. A letter of commitment will be required to submit along with candidate resume.Responsibilities Include:

Determine level of assurance of developed capabilities based on test results.
Develop test plans to address specifications and requirements.
Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware).
Make recommendations based on test results.
Determine scope, infrastructure, resources, and data sample size to ensure system requirements are adequately demonstrated.
Create auditable evidence of security measures.
Validate specifications and requirements for testability.
Analyze the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing.
Perform developmental testing on systems under development.
Perform interoperability testing on systems exchanging electronic information with other systems.
Test, evaluate, and verify hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements; record and manage test data.
Manage and approve Accreditation Packages (e.g., ISO/IEC 15026-2).
Perform security reviews, identify gaps in security architecture, and develop a security risk management plan.
Conduct risk analysis for system changes.
Plan and conduct security authorization reviews for system installations.
Provide input to Risk Management Framework process activities.
Review authorization documents to ensure acceptable risk levels.
Verify and update security documentation.
Ensure implementation of security postures and recommend corrective actions.
Develop security compliance processes and audits for external services.
Participate in Risk Governance to address security risks.
Establish and monitor plans for vulnerability remediation.
Assure successful implementation of security requirements.
Document the impact of new systems on security posture.
Document security design and development activities.
Support compliance activities and monitor security configurations.
Ensure acquisitions meet information security requirements.
Assess security control effectiveness and configuration management processes.
Establish acceptable limits for applications, networks, or systems.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology or a related field from an accredited college/university is required.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification required.
Recent experience in cloud security, supporting the secure implementation of cloud native and emerging technologies (artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, etc.).
Knowledge/expertise in the NIST RMF and Federal cybersecurity policy, standards, and guidelines is required.
