SUMMARY:
To research, develop, design, and test a wide range of products according to requirements of individual customers. To teach and guide and oversee less experienced engineers. To interface with the customer throughout a program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Prepares or reviews design sketches, layouts, schematics, 3D models and drawings as part of a design team.
•Selects or reviews raw materials and components; develops or identifies specifications for product.
•Determines or reviews input boundary conditions (loads, temperatures, fixities, pressures, etc.).
•Develops or reviews hand calculations and or finite element models to determine temperatures, stresses and deflections, etc.
•Post-processes or reviews finite element model results and performs iterative design changes.
•Organizes and leads meetings to determine customer and team objectives.
•Reports or reviews results through written and verbal communication.
•Interface with customers, perform to schedule and budget requirements
•Leads co-workers to teach and motivate and oversee less experienced engineers
Requirements (Education & Experience)
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
•0-2 years experience in an engineering services environment or related field
•Finite element analysis – ANSYS, NASTRAN, Fluent, CFX, etc.
•CAD Modeling – Unigraphics, ProE, Autocad, Catia, etc.
•Interpersonal skills – able to work well with and motivate/teach others
•Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
•Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
•Must be able to multi-task as required.
