In-home childcare Tampa Bay Area:

Do you have experience working with children who have special needs? This could be the perfect job for you! Parc Center for Disabilities’ Caregiver Relief Services department is looking for individuals who are compassionate and reliable to train as an in-home care provider for children with special needs. Caregiver Relief Services’ Providers focus on the well-being of the family unit to prevent abuse and neglect.

***Due to specific family requests, we are currently seeking male providers only for this role to ensure we meet the unique needs and preferences of our clients.***

Position Summary:

Provide in-home caregiving to child(ren) to allow primary caregivers a scheduled, short break. Provide given resources to the family for additional support. Caregiver Relief Services’ Provider, under supervision of the Caregiver Relief Services’ Managers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct care for children with developmental delays, trauma and/or disabilities in the child’s home environment.
  • May need to provide routine care for children including (but not limited to) food preparation, diapering, hand washing, toileting, etc.
  • Create a schedule with the family to best serve their needs.
  • Document children’s care needs during home visit.
  • Responsible for maintaining correspondence with Caregiver Relief Services’ Management and child’s caregivers in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Provide given resources to further support families.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.

Requirements

 ***Due to specific family requests, we are currently seeking male providers only for this role to ensure we meet the unique needs and preferences of our clients.*** 

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Experience with special need persons (Preferred)

Physical Requirements:

To perform this job the individual must be able to carry out all essential functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Parc Center for Disabilities’ Children’s Services’ employees must be able to perform the following essential functions:

  • Observe, see, hear, and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that may occur in the center or on the playground.
  • Lift a minimum of 45 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table when necessary.
  • Reach a child 20 to 30 feet away within 30 seconds without endangering the staff person’s health.
  • Crouch to a child’s height, maintain eye contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment, and be able to quickly transition from one position to another.
  • Be physical, visually, and auditorily aware of the cognitive, social, and physical needs of children.
  • Communicate verbally and writing in English to the degree that child, caregivers, and other staff members can understand and respond.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Provider Job details:

  • $16 an hour
  • Job Type - Part-time.
  • Hours- Some daytime hours available, mostly evenings and weekends.
  • Must work 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) a month.
  • Must work a minimum of 10 hours a month.
