Serve as a member of the building team; work cooperatively with building administrators, teachers, and support personnel
Work with counselors to facilitate the overall office functions of the High School Counseling Office and communications flow, to assist students, and to maintain and update student records and building records as assigned
Assist the counselors in supporting students taking dual enrollment courses, applying for scholarships, and accessing school counseling services
Contribute to a positive office and school atmosphere, offering pleasant and accommodating services from the High School Counseling Office to parents, students, and community patrons
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Post-secondary training as an administrative assistant and/or demonstrated record of successful experience as a business, department, or school administrative assistant; experience in position which required direct interaction with students and the public highly preferred
- Demonstrated competence in editing, proofing, and data processing; excellent skills with computer systems required; knowledge of and/or specific training in word processing, spreadsheet, database, Microsoft, PC software, etc., highly preferred
- Ability to work and interact with students of high school age, parents, and staff required
- Excellent secretarial, organizational, and public relations/communications skills required
- Demonstrated successful record of confidentiality and handling of confidential materials
- Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations
- Demonstrated history of continued professional growth and ability to learn on the job
Salary: District Salary Schedule (2024-2025 Base = $18.00 per hour)
Employment Term: 195 days – 37.5 hours per week – benefit eligible
Beginning Date: August 9, 2024
Closing Date: July 21, 2024
