Position SummaryLays out, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies production electronic/electrical components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.
ResponsibilitiesIncluding the following responsibilities, but other duties as assigned.
i. Develops electrical/electronic parts lists and schematics for new manufacturing.
Equipment.
ii. Develops and improves programmable logic control ladder logic, vision, and robotic systems for new and existing equipment.
iii. Develops and improves human-machine interface software for new and existing equipment.
iv. Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
v. Recommends changes in circuitry or electronic/electronic specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
vi. Occasional overlap with general maintenance technicians. Duties include repair and troubleshooting of general mechanical systems including hydraulic, punch presses and pneumatic systems.

Education And/or ExperienceFifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsKnowledge of PLC & HMI software, electrical schematic design software; internet software, spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
