  • Parker Meggitt Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering, through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing ending with delivery to the customers.

Job Designation
  • The Automation Manufacturing Engineer will use their expertise on a variety of complex manufacturing issues to increase the capabilities to produce products.
  • Designs, improves and installs integrated systems in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment.
  • Directly impacts all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation, as well as the sustaining and growth efforts of operations.
Job Core Responsibilities
  • Provides objective, functional, and financial engineering guidance on capital expenditures to division management and follow up on the implementation process
  • Coordinates all phases of cost reduction; forecasts labor and equipment requirements to ensure adequate equipment, machine capacity, and labor
  • Establishes and maintains labor standards to monitor direct/indirect labor and machine performance
  • Develops, improves, and monitors standards, procedures, processes, and performance to reduce costs and to improve production operations
  • Provides knowledge and expertise; acting as a professional resource for colleagues
  • Reduce costs and improve manufacturing profits, using significant expertise on complex issues, best practices, industry trends and professional knowledge
  • Identify, research, design, deploy, and validate automation systems to increase production efficiency and enhance product quality.
  • Lead collaborative discussions with key stakeholders to determine automation capabilities and goals.
  • Select and integrate controls, sensors, and actuators on new and existing automated equipment.
  • Ability to write and diagnose code for new and legacy automated equipment. Programming languages to include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Python
  • C
  • C#
  • VB.net
  • Labview

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.
  • Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $90K- $150K
Job Requirements And QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a must requirement Years Experience: min 5 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Experience with Robotics, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Process Automation, Programmable Logic Controllers, Electrical Engineering
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Strong ability with software testing and validation
  • Proficiency in maintaining automated equipment
  • Demonstrated expertise with complex manufacturing engineering solutions
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing while analyzing, evaluating, and determining solutions to a variety of problems
  • Proficient with applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
  • Ability to improve products or services by applying professional and business knowledge
  • Able to solve complex problems; makes decisions based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
WORK AUTHORIZATION: This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
  • 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for most positions.
