We are not utilizing agencies to fill this position. Parker Poe is seeking a Legal Professional Assistant (LPA) for our Charlotte office to provide administrative support to attorneys. The LPA will work a regular schedule. The typical schedule will consist of 7.5 hours per day equating to 37.5 hours per week. Additional hours (including overtime) will be required on occasion. Flexible work arrangements may be available after an initial period of employment.Primary responsibilities include preparing and indexing documents, and preparing state and federal court filings. Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling appointments, maintaining attorney calendars, managing contact information, new client intake, maintaining files in the electronic records management system, scheduling travel, and other duties as assigned.Requirements:Minimum three years of litigation legal assistant experience and an associate degree or the combined equivalent of experience and education; Experience supporting one or more of the following practice group(s) required:LitigationBankruptcy Proficiency with Federal and North Carolina State Court filing systems required (PACER knowledge a plus)Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe AcrobatExperience using a legal time and billing systemFamiliarity with electronic work flow systems preferredExcellent communication and time management skillsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsMotivated, self-directed individual with ability to anticipate and resolve issuesAbility to prioritize work projects and execute tasks in a fast-paced environmentMust be a team player, willing to help other team members during peak times
