This position is located in Albuquerque, NM, and relocation is required (Relocation assistance wil be provided).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be representing clients injured from the beginning (intake) to the end (disbursement) of their cases and all stages in between, resolving cases through negotiation before litigation, through litigation, and trial.
  • You will be able to concentrate on "attorney" work, with the support of a team of assistants, including intake, investigators (retired police officers), pre-litigation case managers, medical records/demand drafting assistants, litigation paralegals, and settlement/subrogation paralegals. You will also have the support of a team of collaborative and creative attorneys.
  • Organization and attention to detail are paramount to this position, along with the willingness and ability to regularly interact with clients, adjusters, and other lawyers/paralegals over the phone and/or in person.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed in New Mexico or ability to become licensed through reciprocity or UBE score
  • Preferred (but not required for talented and ambitious attorneys): 3 years experience in litigating personal injury cases (plaintiff or defense)
  • Ability to commute to or relocate to Albuquerque, New Mexico (relocation assistance provided)
  • Be available in the office from Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 (and more as required for caseload)

MISSION STATEMENT

ATTORNEY - POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Using intelligent, compassionate, and determined advocacy to effectively maximize recovery of the value of our client’s harm, and the wrong that caused it.

RESULTS / OUTCOMES (What you must get done.)

  • Be in the office from 8 AM to 5 PM, if not out of office at meetings, hearings, depos or trial. (Attend daily huddles at 8 AM.)
  • Review and note action on out-of-standard cases with lead attorney weekly.
  • Resolve cases within Full Settlement Value (95%).
  • Full attorney fee (95% of cases).
  • Convert clients (90%).
  • Achieve positive reviews (95%).
  • Bring in $1.2 Million in attorney fees per year.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Intake / first meeting with Client

  • Show compassion
  • Note all facts pertinent to liability, damages, coverage
  • Posture case by articulating client and office action items

Investigation

  • Evaluate and direct investigation, to begin building case for trial. Determine insurance coverage

Negotiation

  • Prepare case for trial
  • Evaluate Full Settlement Value, and obtain authorization
  • Negotiate with adjusters; keep client informed
  • Speak with adjusters, build and maintain negotiation relationships, aggressively negotiate and/or posture cases with adjusters where appropriate.
  • File suit where needed, and prepare client for litigation

Litigation

  • Prepare pleadings and discovery for lawsuits
  • Prepare case for trial, arbitration, and/or mediation

General

  • Timely review and sign correspondence drafted by team members
