The Group Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Group Sales department at Lake Compounce in accordance with Palace requirements including; maximizing financial performance, maintaining a positive relationship with our customers, account sellers, accounts receivable, and execution teams. Position OverviewThe Group Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Group Sales department at Lake Compounce in accordance with Palace requirements including; maximizing financial performance, maintaining a positive relationship with our customers, account sellers, accounts receivable, and execution teams. This a full-time position at Lake Compounce located in Bristol, CT.
Job Responsibilities
  • Participates in the development and implementation of business strategies for Lake Compounce’s overall mission, vision values and strategies
  • Creates, develops and executes sales strategies that support achievement of Lake Compounce’s business goals
  • Implements sales action plan and monitors and supports group sales team members to execute plan
  • Negotiates and closes contracts with key customers
  • Qualifies prospective leads as to profitability
  • Achieves market share and revenue goals by meeting transient and group sales goals
  • Annual and weekly reporting of forecasted business and actual business
  • Continually improves sales and adheres to brand standards
  • Analyzes sales to determine profitability of sold business and opportunities within the market
  • Executes and supports all operational aspects of business booked (order entry, ticketing fulfilment, stock inventory, preparing invoices, keeping accurate information and other internal systems).
  • Participates in management team responsibilities, including Manager on Duty shifts, property safety walks, and support of operational departments other than Group Sales.
  • Drive awareness and build relationships through networking with local organizations
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
Recommended Skills
  • Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with Windows.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM platform
  • Strong work ethic, problem solving, time management, attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including proper grammar for written and verbal communications.
  • Background or experience communicating with customers via phone and email.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds to transport ticket stock with support equipment.
  • Frequent and repetitive, sitting, standing, talking, bending, and grasping.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Education
  • High school diploma / GED, 2 Year Vocational or 4 Year Degree preferred.
  • 3 Years or more in related field or some combination of experience and education.
Speech
  • Critical. One-on-One conversation and communication with guests and staff, speak with guests, clients, peers and clients by phone, radio or other device.
Availability
  • Must be able to work general business hours and rotating flex shifts to cover different events.
  • Primarily M-F, likely includes a certain amount of weekends and holidays regularly throughout the year as needed for events, functions, group arrivals, guest service, etc.
  • This is not a remote position.
