Partners Personnel is Hiring a Service Dispatcher Near Carson, CA
Seeking an experienced Drayage Dispatcher in Carson , CA full time, 100% onsite, work scheduled is Monday through Friday from 7am-4pm with a compensation of $24.00 - $25.00/hr. D.O.E.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check pre-dispatched containers are set for the 2nd shift. Making sure the demurrage, pier pass, and any fees/holds are cleared.
- Emailing steamship lines requesting alternate return locations for empty containers that we are unable to obtain appointments for.
- Emailing steamship lines to ensure all containers received are on-hired for return to the receiving terminal.
- Check all out gated containers, prioritize dual appointments possibilities from the container board.
- Track and Trace/Check availability.
- Daily searching/contacting all terminal websites for appointments or containers exemptions to return empty containers to avoid and minimize per diem charges.
- Communicate with drivers concerning waiting time when applicable, real live status updating the customers over email.
- Checking the terminal system and/or TIR tickets to confirm driver has out gated or in gated container and only after that update the container on the system as completed.
- The container move needs to be updated on the system prior to dispatching the driver to avoid any unknown or missing containers.
- Prioritizing LFD HOT containers and oldest containers to avoid demurrage and per diem detention on the containers to the customer.
- Knowledge of all steamship lines allotted free days.
- Making sure that we are dispatching drivers ahead of the next move. Communicating with the yard guy to have containers ready and accessible for the drivers. Checking your yard checks.
- Pre-Dispatching the first shift drivers for the next day.
- Checking and replying to emails timely and professionally(emails answered within 20min or sooner max time)
- Daily Reports to customers
- Verify the pre-dispatch to make sure containers are updated properly in the system to include locations and scheduled delivery dates clear of any fees.
- Track and trace/ availability per customer.
- Update customers of their containers via email or phone call as needed.
- Report WT to customers via email.
- Dispatching drivers.
- Paying fees/pier pass for approved customers.
- On hiring/off hiring
- Extending LFD/closed area, contacting the port.
- Schedule terminal/delivery appointments.
- Able to use the TMS system.
- Check driver manifest
- Maintain Port Pro system accuracy in real time status.
- Monitor import and/or export container termination status updates from port websites
- Check TURNAROUND TIMES on containers/not incurring per diem
- Communicate with team on daily progress, challenges, changes, terminal issues, equipment issues via email and by sending a daily recap report. (main form of communication is IM, Google Hangouts)
- Answer phone calls timely and professionally.
- Pre-dispatch drivers for next day
- Complete other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum of Dispatcher Drayage LA/LB port experience
- High School Education required
- Transportation industry experience
- Must be bilingual fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
- Computer proficient with Google Sheets and emailing with proper
