Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile Physician Assistant (PA) to join our new Urgent Care facility, specializing in both general urgent care and psychiatric urgent care services. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive medical care to patients experiencing acute physical illnesses, injuries, and psychiatric emergencies in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and psychiatric evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions, such as infections and injuries, utilizing evidence-based guidelines and protocols.
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients presenting with acute mental health crises or psychiatric emergencies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate both medical and psychiatric interventions, including medication management and therapeutic interventions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work, imaging studies, and psychiatric assessments, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment options, medication management, and strategies for maintaining optimal mental health.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems, adhering to legal and ethical standards of healthcare delivery and patient confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent).
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• BLS or ACLS certified 
• Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or psychiatric care preferred.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to manage acute medical and psychiatric conditions in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and familiarity with psychiatric assessment tools and protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in patient care settings.
