POSITION SUMMARY

Supervises all nursing activities at the Rolling Hills Clinic (RHC). Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety and public health regulations. Ensures compliance with relevant standards from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Coordinates quality improvement strategies for clinical care. Collaborates with clinical and administrative managers across the organization to achieve operational goals set by Administration. Supervises Medical Assistants in all RHC’s locations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for designing systems and processes that achieve optimal organizational outcomes.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, and implementing a continuous improvement of clinical services within the organization and provides leadership and vision for all clinical staffing: Medical Assistants, etc.
  • Responsible for RHC Infection Control program including but not limited to implementation of program policies and procedures and reporting as required.
  • Maintains continuing quality assessment and improvement analysis and evaluation of patient care delivery and communicates with Administration on the activities/issues of Patient Care Services.
  • Develop staffing plans that ensure sufficient staffing to meet direct care needs, recommend numbers and types of personnel necessary to provide care and maintain compliance.
  • Ensure 24-hour availability as nursing administration resource by providing on-call and telephone access or designating an alternative, qualified nursing staff member to do so.
  • Conduct quality assessment and assurance activities, including regulatory compliance rounds, in all clinical departments to monitor performance and to continuously improve quality.
  • Provide direct administrative and technical supervision of clinical staff and continuing care functions.
  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary conferences as needed to develop adequate plans of care.
  • Employee Safety: Safely performs all duties; follows required protective protocols to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Provide leadership in planning, organization, evaluation, and fiscal management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and promote programs to enhance the healthcare of RHC patients.
  • Serves on Medical Services EHR Clinical Committee as a clinical resource, collaborating with other members and IT to develop options, update strategies and make recommendations to improve implementation to the medical staff.
  • Responsible for Employee Health program and coordinate initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible to track and resolve clinical complaints within 3 business days.
  • Collaborate with executive management team on Goals of RHC.
  • Conducts internal auditing, observation of process, process mapping, and development of preventive and corrective action plans.
  • Identifies and implements evidence based best practices throughout RHC to improve population health.
  • Develops and implements, along with executive management team, improvement initiatives, serving as a coach with health care providers and clinical team members to support standardized work, systems, and process improvement.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of organizational regulatory compliance (i.e. AAAHC Accreditation, Patient Centered Medical Home).
  • Review, extract, integrate, compile, validate and analyze data from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other sources related to clinical performance, operational quality, patient experience, staff experience and patient safety.
  • Responsible for coordination with Tribal programs to ensure quality care to Tribal Members. Work in collaboration with Site Managers and Medical Director to establish and update working agreements for offsite locations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and the policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and allocation of funds based upon a review of department estimates and recommendations.
  • Must maintain compliance with ergonomic safety standards; be mindful of posture and regularly practice ergonomic stretches.
  • Safety: Responsible for ensuring that all duties, responsibilities and operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health of all personnel involved, including themselves.
  • Safety: Take appropriate corrective actions to address matters pertaining to employee health and safety that have been brought to their attention.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current state nursing license (RN) and CPR certification. Certification in ACLS/PALS, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire Experience working with an electronic health records system within the last year.
  • Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing Administration.
  • 5 years' progressively responsible administrative experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with nursing administration, staff supervision, and developing nursing policies and procedures, quality assurance and improvement programs, and risk management.
  • Demonstrate clear knowledge of Rolling Hills Clinic structure, standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Must have ability to relate and communicate effectively with community interest groups, agencies, and medical facilities that serve the American Indian Community.

LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM

Rolling Hills Clinics is a National Health Service Corp (NHSC) approved site where primary care physicians who are eligible for loan repayment funding can fulfill their service obligation. RHC is an Indian Health Program site for Indian Health Services (IHS) Loan Repayment Program.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

Pre-employment Drug Testing and a Department of Justice Fingerprinting clearance through Federal, State and Child Abuse Index is a contingency for an offer of employment. Criminal clearances are obtained to protect the welfare and safety of clients receiving services at Rolling Hills Clinic.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

A pre-employment Physical exam is required upon hire. You will be required to provide vaccination records to show proof of immunity for TB or PPD, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, TDAP & Hep B. If the records are more than 10 years old, titers are required to confirm immunity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Position may require exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a health clinic setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Will work with blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, and fax machines. Employment with Rolling Hills Clinic is voluntarily entered into. All RHC personnel are employed on an at-will basis.
