We are currently seeking an experienced Attorney to join our highly productive Workers Compensation practice. The ideal candidate will be well versed in Workers Compensation law, highly motivated, have a high standard of ethics and strong communication skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Handle a substantial case load
· Must be able to travel between boroughs (mainly Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens)
· Conduct opening and closing arguments, direct and cross examination of witnesses and a thorough familiarity with the record of each case
· File necessary appeals/rebuttals/summations
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively shows empathy to claimants who are dealing with difficult circumstances.
· Upbeat with a can-do attitude; must be able to work independently and have a desire to assume significant responsibility
· Understanding of legal language and principles, and other related matters.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability multitask and meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
· Fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Creole is a plus
