PathPoint is excited to welcome new
full-time, Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Tailored Day Services (TDS) program in
Santa Barbara, CA . Tailored Day Services is a unique 1:1 community-based program designed to meet the needs of individuals who prefer individualized support or wish to engage more actively with their community. Unlike our group programs, this service offers a personalized approach, catering to individuals of all abilities-from those who are fairly independent to those requiring higher levels of support. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about making a positive impact and comfortable with a variety of support needs.
About PathPoint: We are a non-profit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and young adults in living the life they choose. Through strengthening workplace abilities, developing essential life skills, and fostering meaningful relationships, we serve communities in Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 30-40 hours per week, variable schedule based on client availability.
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour. If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $20.30 per hour. The pay range for this position is $16.00-$23.74 an hour.*
*The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors, and the maximum pay represents the wage potential based on attaining the highest level of position experience, talent, and responsibilities.
Responsibilities: - Provide 1:1 support to individuals in various community settings
- Assist with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs
- Support non-verbal and non-ambulatory individuals in community activities
- Help with feeding and other support tasks as needed (no personal care or hygiene)
- Facilitate meaningful engagement and participation in community events and activities
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of daily activities and progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all individuals
Qualifications: - Experience working with individuals with diverse abilities preferred
- Ability to comfortably assist with physical support needs, including wheelchair assistance
- Strong communication skills, including working with non-verbal individuals
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about community inclusion
- Independent problem solver with a knack for creative thinking
- Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy
- Culturally aware, acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds, possesses skills to collaborate across cultures, and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences
- High school diploma or GED is required.
