Job Summary
Supervises and coordinates the Agency’s transportation and maintenance functions, as well as manages the Agency’s facilities, under the general direction of the Executive Director.
Responsibilities and Duties
Plans and directs the work of all personnel involved in maintenance and transportation activities and Environmental Services and Operational functions with staff of the Agency.
Determines and initiates proper action to complete repairs in accordance with Agency policy and sound maintenance practices.
Conducts routine and periodic inspections of Agency facilities and vehicles.
Develops schedules and preventative maintenance programs for Agency vehicles and equipment.
Organizes and implements vehicle availability for people supported and staff.
Acts as liaison with outside transportation vendors to ensure appropriate communication is available and appropriate services provided.
Oversees driver education for anyone driving an Agency vehicle.
Provides guidance to staff by interpreting and implementing transportation procedures and regulations.
Makes recommendations to improve transportation services and efficiency.
Conducts safety inspections and assists with training programs as necessary to create and maintain a safe environment.
Promotes teamwork and cooperation among supervised employees, peers, supervisors and staff of other programs.
Evaluates maintenance, environmental services and supply staff performance and makes recommendations on staff changes, promotions, and terminations.
Consults with Human Resources Director to ensure an orderly personnel program is maintained within area of responsibility, including appropriate staffing patterns, recruitment, hiring and training, job descriptions, performance standards and appraisals, compensation, etc.
Supervises the construction management and/or remodeling of new homes, existing homes, or additional building sites.
Conducts inventory control and purchases supplies and furniture throughout the Agency.
Maintains a five (5) year plan for maintenance of buildings and maintenance and replacement of vehicles.
Assists in the preparation of annual budget and manages expenses to ensure operation within budgetary limits.
May be assigned to participate in Labor Management and/or grievance meetings.
Assists the Executive Director with administrative planning and programming and other functions as assigned.
Attends internal leadership meetings, as requested by the Executive Director.
Oversees the Agency’s recycling and brokers the sale of cardboard, paper, and clothes.
Is responsible for biohazard material removal, storage, and disposal.
Assists the Communications Coordinator with the Agency’s Key Control program and key distribution.
Works in conjunction with the Finance Director to manage the Agency Commercial property assets.
Responsible for the Plaza Security and Fire Alarm system.
Completes all annual training requirements.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
May assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or training. Verifiable documentation of education. Previous supervisory experience is required. Experience with persons with developmental disabilities and other physical and mental challenges preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
Successful completion of the Short Test of Functional Health Literacy in Adults (STOFHLA) test, testing ability to read. This is a professional position which requires great verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to the changing needs of the Agency is crucial. Basic understanding of budgets, timekeeping systems and application of Agency policies and procedures. Ability to appropriately utilize available computer programs and systems. Ability to interact and communicate with individuals served by our Agency, employees, parents/guardians, State/Federal staff members and other supervisory/management personnel. May represent the Agency at a variety of events.
Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Successful completion of Essential Functioning Test (EFT) verifying ability to lift at least seventy-five (75) pounds. May have flexible varied work schedule with evenings, overnights, and/or weekends required. Some travel may be required to other Agency locations and/or to training sessions.

Rate of pay based on education and experience.
