Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office schedule
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring impressions and fabricating temporary crowns
- Assist with inventory management and ordering dental supplies

Skills:
- Infection control: Knowledge of proper infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Medical terminology: Familiarity with dental and medical terminology to effectively communicate with the dentist and other healthcare professionals
- Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of oral anatomy to assist the dentist during procedures
- Medical coding: Proficiency in coding procedures for accurate billing and insurance claims
- Epic: Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems for efficient documentation and record keeping
- Medical documentation: Ability to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Patient assessment: Skill in assessing patients' oral health needs and providing appropriate care
- Aseptic technique: Adherence to strict aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination
- HIPAA: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
