Position duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:As a Jr. / Staff Accountant, you will work directly with the firm’s clientele and report directly to the CEO. You are expected to work independently, collaborate with other staff, and assist the CEO on all relevant duties.
Bookkeeping DutiesBank Reconciliations & Bookkeeping Functions
Cash Disbursement & Check Register reconciliations
General Ledger maintenance on both QBO & QBD
Send financials to clients periodically as needed
Preparation of Financial Statements for the Accountant to review
Prepare and File Sales Tax ReturnsComplete Financials for Sales Tax Returns
Complete and File Sale Tax Returns in all 50 states as needed
Meet Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Deadlines
Tax Season Direct SupportIntake process of client's documents for tax preparation
Prepare client files for year-end tax return as needed
Complete Returns in the tax system and finalize with the client
Accounting Audit Projects and ResearchAssist CPA in audit projects
Respond, assist, and dispute letters for clients from agencies such as IRS, Taxation etc.
Assist CPA in law research for complex returns
To qualify for the position, you MUST possess the following:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting
Public Accounting Firm Experience: 3 years minimum (Required)
Sales Tax Preparation & Payroll Tax Experience: 3 years minimum (Required)
Individual Income Tax Knowledge: 3 years minimum (Required)
Exceptional Verbal and writing skills
Ability to effectively communicate in both English & Spanish Written and Oral
Must be able to problem-solve, work independently, and be a team player
Strong Customer Service Skills
Languages:Spanish (Required)
English (Required)
Computer and Technology Knowledge Expectancy:Quickbooks Online (Required)
Quickbooks Desktop (Required)
Microsoft Office Suites (Required)
Intuit Proconnect (A Plus)
This position is in an office, not remote; your working hours will be Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturdays are required from Jan to May 1st. We are a friendly, teaching firm. The pay rate starts between $18-$25 per hour, based on experience. Our firm offers overtime, bonuses, benefits, vacation, and 401K.
All candidates are tested before the interview, and you will have a training period to demonstrate your experience hands-on. This will be the final step in your complete hiring process.
