What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Coordinator position at PayCompass?
We’re hiring a Finance Coordinator because we need you to accomplish our mission - helping independent sales agents navigate merchant services with a partner who provides the AgentFirst experience.
We believe that merchant service sales professionals are growing small businesses one solution at a time. And we help them do that by connecting them with a full toolbox of solutions and services without the messiness of inefficient processes, daily reporting, sales quotas, or laughably small residuals.
That’s why our foundation is AgentFirst. We support independent sales agents as they build and support their portfolio of clients. We view each agent as our customer - keeping them safe, supported, and successful allows them to do the same for their merchants.
And that is where you come in!
We are looking for a Finance Coordinator to help us continue building the AgentFirst Experience here at PayCompass. We are growing fast and the opportunities to manage, maintain, and multiply those aspects is supremely important
.
That is why finding the right fit for this role is the company’s #1 priority.
This role is critical because without you we will not have the ability to continue expanding and growing as an organization. We need you to come with detail-oriented ownership and problem-solving and energy. Improve what we’re already doing, explore different ways to do it more efficiently, and invent new and better techniques. And, most of all, have fun helping us grow PayCompass.
What you will do in this role?
As the Finance Coordinator for PayCompass, you'll have three core areas of responsibility.
The core areas you'll be focused on are below and in priority order:
#1. Accounts Receivable
Outcome: You are the person that manages our consistent billing for hardware purchases, weekly/monthly SaaS, and other services. Your attention to detail keeps the revenue engine running smoothly, and you easily adjust to the nuanced differences and changes on each account. (50% of your time)
#2. Accounts Payable
Outcome: You manage the outflow of expenses for everything from regular bills to vendor invoices. You stay on top of the accuracy of charges and identify potential efficiencies and savings. (35% of your time)
#3. Reporting/Analysis
Outcome: You help collect, codify, and communicate the data behind PayCompass financial activities and position. Your understanding of our revenue and expense trends and targets plays a key role in short-term and long-term strategic plans. (15% of your time)
What will you learn in this role?
If you come from a traditional finance role, our pace of innovation, action, and iteration might be a little uncomfortable at first. You’ll learn to move fast, iterate quickly, and put zero value into sunk cost. You'll get to spread your wings, actively eliminate red tape, and do your thing.
If you come from a large corporation or an agency environment, this will feel like the first day out of prison after a 10-year sentence.
If you come from the start-up or tech world, this will feel like a dream in which you can just focus on passionately pursuing the success of others (which helps us succeed too!).
If you have been around finance but have never taken on a Coordinator role, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for. While we would love to have someone that's already "done it,” we're open to giving someone who is the perfect fit the opportunity they've been waiting on.
There is zero red tape at PayCompass. We don’t care about how other people have always done things or how you learned to do it somewhere else.
What we care about is: 1) you love what you do every day and wake up excited to do it 2) our sales agents’ success. We ruthlessly pursue both of those on a daily basis.
Who will you work with?
You will work directly with Grant Veatch, Director of Finance. Grant has been a key part of PayCompass’ growth, and you will serve as the most important part of his team.
You’ll also be a key part of the PayCompass team which includes Justin (Founder/CEO), Rob (Director of Operations), and,Chris (Director of Sales).
Where will you work?
You’ll work at PayCompass HQ in Tempe, Arizona. Our team has a fantastic culture and we genuinely love being around each other (and our dogs)!
What does PayCompass do and why?
PayCompass is a privately-owned, self-funded financial services firm and one of the fastest-growing companies in the payments industry. It was founded by industry veteran Justin Volrath and his wife, Nini - they firmly believed that sales professionals deserved a place with the widest possible range of solutions, the most agent-friendly sales contracts, and the highest level of support without sacrificing their independence.
In a nutshell, a place that would always be AgentFirst.
We believe that no sales agent should ever have to walk away from a deal because they can’t offer the right solution.
We believe that no sales agent should have to worry about how their compensation will get shortchanged, undercut, or eliminated.
We believe that partnering with the best technology, hardware, and service providers gives our sales agents the tools to succeed.
