- Assist in the baking of the breakfast items and breakfast ala-carte set up.
- Assist in the preparation of the main entree’ and/or dessert.
- Assist in serving lunch to students and staff.
- Assist in the cleaning of all kitchen areas, including, but not limited to, equipment, counters, fryers, etc.
- Assist in collecting and recording student and staff meal expenses.
- Position requires extended periods of standing often during the entire shift.
- Position requires frequent bending/stooping.
- The position requires occasional lifting of up fifty pounds.
- Work duties must be completed in a swift manner.
- Position requires ability to take directions, answer questions or get answers for questions.
- The position requires the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner including the pressure of classes being served in a timely fashion.
- Position requires need for handling multiple tasks.
- The position requires the ability to enter breakfast and lunch information in the computer at a fast pace.
- Exposure to various room temperatures from cooking to utilization of freezer/refrigerator equipment.
- Exposure to noise levels from equipment and students.
- Exposure to potential danger from equipment (slicer, oven, deep fat fryer).
- Some exposure to cleaning chemicals.
- This position does not include supervision or work direction of other employees.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous food preparation experience preferred.
- Able to work effectively as a team member with co-workers.
- Some computer skills recommended.
- Operates commercial kitchen appliances such as stoves, mixers, fryer, dishwasher, steam-tables, etc.
- Uses kitchen tools such as slicer, knives, etc.
- Operates computer and Wordware software.
- Projects a positive, cooperative, and respectful attitude with parents, students, and other employees.
- Food is prepared in a healthy and nutritious manner.
- Meals are served in a pleasant and timely manner.
- Records of student and family accounts are maintained accurately to ensure the money accounts are at a positive balance.
- Students are notified of low account balances.
