Hello! We are looking for Special Needs Care Givers / PCAs (Personal Care Assistants) for my 13 year old nephew with Autism and Weidmann-Steiner's syndrome.
He is happy and playful, but also enjoys relaxing! More info on his likes, cares, hours/schedule/pay, and pay below. Please read thoroughly before messaging – serious inquiries only please :) School ends next week, so we are looking to onboard at least one person asap!
Likes:
Going for walks, watching cars and trucks drive past, playing puppets, "shopping" at Target and Mendards (lol, he will ask to go! but just likes to stroll the aisles and look at the toys), swinging, animals, going to Madison's playground in Woodbury, splashing in puddles, swimming, playing fetch with dogs, Elmo, Paw Patrol, YouTube/screen time, relaxing, singing, sensory play like finger painting and squishing shaving cream.
Cares:
- Feeding: He is 100% tube-fed. It sounds intimidating, but it's quite easy to learn and do! PCAs will hook up his feeding backpack to his tube, start the feeding, and remove the backpack usually at least once per shift.
- Water flushes through the tube
- Diaper changes
- Attentiveness
Hours/Schedule/Pay:
- Up to 35 hours a week, minimum of 12 hours a week.
- $17–$21 per hour depending on experience.
- There is a little paperwork required on the front end, as we use Orion as our payroll service.
- We are flexible when it comes to scheduling. We can work together to setup a set schedule, or you can choose to vary your days & times from week to week.
- We need PCA help on weekdays and weekends for the summer, and then primarily weekends & the some weekday evenings when he goes back to school.
Please share this with someone who might be interested! Thank you!
