PCSI is Hiring a Housekeeping Manager - Winn Army Community Hospital Near Stewart, GA

PCSI is looking for a Housekeeping Manager at Winn Army Community Hospital! The Housekeeping Manager leads the environmental services department - to include shift supervisors and frontline staff - in a military hospital setting. This role is responsible for coordinating all environmental services work and schedules, overseeing employees and their supervisors, and ensuring staff are trained on proper procedures. The Housekeeping Manager also works closely with the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Project Manager to maintain positive customer relations and ensure contract requirements are met.

We're looking for someone with janitorial/custodial or housekeeping management experience - hospital EVS background is a plus! Typical work hours are Monday-Friday on 2nd shift, 3:30pm-12:30am.

What You'll Do as Housekeeping Manager:

  • Oversees supervision of staff, including hiring, developing, counseling, training and termination, as may be required. 
  • Manages, plans, and directs operations of EVS department by assigning work to direct reports.
  • Provides leadership to supervisors and EVS staff, fostering exceptional customer service skills and methods to exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Motivates staff to improve performance and encourage further development and build professionalism in the EVS industry.
  • Attain the objectives of the housekeeping department in accordance with company standards and contractual requirements and as directed by the Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Project Manager.
  • Delegates daily work assignments for EVS staff; checks quality of work performed, monitors productivity, and inspects work to assure work conformance to contract specifications.
  • Provides technical support to supervisors and EVS staff. Communicates changes to plans, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed in all assignments and safety training occurs as prescribed by the contract. Reports all on-the-job injuries immediately through use of the appropriate worker’s compensation procedures.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints raised by the client utilizing corporate procedures, including reporting of issues with major client considerations to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Supports the Executive Housekeeper in resolving customer and performance concerns.
  • Oversees and holds accountability for the proper maintenance and security of assigned equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, floor buffer, carpet vacuum and cleaner(s), auto-floor scrubber (if applicable), wet vacuum, and other related custodial equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of housekeeping equipment. Request repairs or service as necessary. Initiates order for housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Conducts productivity rate studies to ensure the most efficient and effective use of personnel and the greatest productivity output.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or in business management, preferred.
  • Minimum of five years management experience required, janitorial/custodial or housekeeping field preferred.
  • Duties must include training, quality improvement techniques, interviewing and selection, cleaning schedule management, budget management, communicating with management/staff.
  • Knowledge of floor care equipment and procedures preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and software and bed tracking systems.
  • Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of housekeeping industry best practices.
  • Thorough knowledge in the use of vacuums, buffers, and other housekeeping equipment.
  • Specific knowledge of housekeeping chemicals and supplies.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct multiple work assignments, and to supervise others.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and report on the work of assigned staff.
  • Knowledge of record keeping, report writing, and supply and inventory practices.
  • Ability to work closely and harmoniously with other employees.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, hospital staff and government officials.
  • Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ability to adhere to contract requirements, safety and health regulations, and company policies.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  • May be required to work in aseptic areas and be exposed to various chemicals and infectious disease.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
