Peace Healthcare at Ridgeway Manor is a 61-bed skilled nursing facility, located in Catonsville, Maryland. Our top priority is providing respectful, compassionate and exceptional care to seniors in Catonsville, and the surrounding community. We treat our residents like family from the moment you arrive. We’re proud to provide comprehensive senior care, including 24/7 skilled nursing care, memory care, respite care, hospice care, rehabilitation and many more. We are seeking a full time applicant with, with some evening and weekend availaility as needed to become part of our growing team.
JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with current federal, state, and local guidelines and procesdures, the primary purpose of the Environmental Service Director is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping and laundry department. The Environmental Services Director is responsible for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents, family of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental services management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards in healthcare facilities.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee all Environmental Department employees in the day to day operation of the facility. Make sure job assignments are carried out properly.
  • Orient new employees, participate in recruitment and selection of new employees. Monitor work as assignments evaluate performance and discipline as needed.
  • Maintain records, manage budget and inventory levels to ensure adequate supply levels. Coordinates inventory orders with other department heads.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities of outside contractors, trades people in construction, repair and maintenance of physical plant and equipment
  • Ensure that equipment and work areas are clean, safe and strict adherence to safety procedures regarding cleaners and hazardous materials and objects.
  • Ensure the building, equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and facility grounds are properly maintained in accordance with facility policies.
  • Establish Environmental and Safety Policies and ensures that Standard Precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety and sanitation practices and procedures are followed.
