This is a support level position that will provide Peace River Center staff and clients assistance as needed. These services will include finding and securing individual apartments, linkage to community resources as appropriate, and assisting with independent living skills/needs. excellent written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Prefer 6 months residential services experience.
Certifications:
None
Training:
10 hours professional enhancement training annually including all PRC required training.
Have a home phone or effective alternate means of communication
Ability to successfully complete ACT, CPR and First Aid training.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with a high degree of independence.
Effective interpersonal skill.
Effective problem solving skills.
An employee in this position must be able to react to change productively and be flexible.

Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds, make physical twist and turns, and perform all of the
Physical functions of moving furniture and boxes.
Transportation:
Minimum 25 years of age in order to be insurable under Peace River Center Liability Insurance
Must have reliable transportation
Clean driving record
Ability to pass Florida DMV license check
Must maintain $50/100 insurance requirements for Peace River Center designated patient drivers
Must be able to pass the DOT physical
Must be able to pass the Peace River Center driving test administered by Transportation Manager
Machines, Tool and Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, fax, copier, cell phone, pager, car/van, household appliances, hammer and plunger.

Work Environment:
The work environment is fast-paced and consists of exposure to physical conditions typical of a normal office environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. Most of the job is performed while sitting, although the work may require occasional standing or walking and/or the lifting and carrying of small objects. A small amount of travel may be required for meetings etc. to another PRC location.
