Job Summary
I am seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide essential care to support a child living with autism and speech delays during the summer. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, personal care, and be patient. The person could also interest in continued PCA services opportunity during the school year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal hygiene assistance such as reminders for bathroom breaks
- Assist with mobility and physical therapy exercises such as walking the treadmill or outdoor catch.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities
- Monitor and report changes in health or behavior to parents
Requirements:
- Experience with children and people living with disabilities
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices is a plus
- Valid driver's license for transporting clients (if required)
- Familiarity with nursing home or home care settings
- Ability to provide compassionate and attentive senior care
- Direct support experience in assisting individuals with daily living activities
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized living space for clients
