General Summary: The Primary Trainer is responsible for ensuring meaningful engagement within the Assisted Living/Memory Care and Skilled Nursing Households through educating team members continuously auditing the culture within each Household. The Primary Trainer works closely with all members of the household, including supporting members outside of the household to deliver Member-Centered Care.
Essential Job DutiesTraining Program Development:
Design and develop comprehensive training programs focusing on the household model of care.
Create training materials, manuals, and digital content that adhere to the company’s mission and vision.
Conduct Spirit Household Model of Care Module training as scheduled.
Ongoing “Catch-up” training sessions offered monthly depending on need.
Refresher training is held monthly for Memory Care team.
Household Model of Care and Spirit Training introduction for all new associates.
Dementia Training (Meeting Regulatory Compliance) 4 Hours for all associates prior to providing care to Members. (Annual Requirement for all Associates).
Ensure all new Associates understand their roles, responsibilities, and the importance of the household model in enhancing Member care.
Training DeliveryFacilitate engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and lectures.
Non standardized practice in assessing a situation, thoroughly investigating cause-and-effect, looking at potential resources possible options and determining possible solutions/responses that are member centered.
Must be able to demonstrate, mentor and model Member centered Care and guide others to fully embrace member centered care.
Present educational information to team members and families to support the implementation and ongoing support for the Spirit Household Model of Care philosophy.
Utilize multimedia tools and engaging platforms to enhance the training experience.
Assessment And EvaluationMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
Make necessary adjustments to training programs based on evaluation results and employee feedback.
Compliance And DocumentationEnsure all training activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Maintain accurate training records and documentation for all employees.
Collaboration And SupportWork closely with department heads and management to identify training needs and support associate development.
Provide guidance and support to associates to help them apply training in their daily work.
QualificationsAbility to understand and follow instructions in English.
Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a retirement or long-term care community preferred.
Experience in training and development in a healthcare setting a plus.
Must have a passion for working with seniors and a passion for educating other team members on the Isakson Household Model of Care.
Must be able to clearly present educational material that ensures the understanding of associate roles, responsibilities, and model of care.
Skills And AbilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to adapt training styles to suit different learning needs and preferences.
Working ConditionsNormally works in well-lit, comfortable environments with regular interactions with Members and Associates.
Must be able to walk up to 75% of the workday.
Must be able to tour through the entire building (up to one mile) and occasionally push a wheelchair.
Must be able to bend and stoop.
Must be able to lift and carry up to (50) pounds independently.
