Summary This role provides direction and is responsible for execution of the Company's compensation and employee benefits programs nationwide. The Director will ensure that the design, funding, administration, compliance and communication of the company's total rewards offerings align with business objectives. Role and Responsibilities
Conduct benefit changes, personnel changes, and open enrollment, ensuring timely completion in accordance with legal requirements.
Assume primary responsibility in the administration of all employee leaves including Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD) Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and workers compensation.
Works with HRIS Specialist to assist with the benefits and time/absence module in UKG system.
Responsible for managing relationship with vendor and employees for Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Maintain relationship with benefits brokers and vendors to resolve issues related to benefit plans or staff issues bringing them to a quick, customer-service friendly resolution.
Assist with research, proposal, and implementation of benefits and wellness options beneficial to team members.
Contribute to and assist with Peachtree onboarding/offboarding as it relates to the UKG and benefits module.
Work with Marketing/Communications team for internal communication support to include quarterly newsletter and company intranet via SharePoint.
Manage company wellness program.
Manage employer/employee HSA program through Plan Source, 401K program through Empower.
Works with Payroll and to support end of year tax and ACA reporting.
Responsible for review and analysis of benefit usage and claim data through Relation Insurance.
Assist with internal and external audit request.
Responsible for invoice reconciliation.
Determine implementation strategies and requirements for compensation programs, processes and tools to ensure Company needs are met.
Provide leadership and direction to business leaders and managers on compensation policies to support the organizational capability related to the management and development of people.
Compensation structure benchmarking and maintenance, including conducting and/or participating in wage and salary surveys on a regular basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is typically required. Some organizations may prefer a Master's degree.
5 years of experience in benefits management or human resources, including leadership roles. Director-level positions usually require extensive experience.
Relevant certifications, such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), can be an asset.
Thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations related to benefits.
Strong data analysis skills to make informed decisions and assess the impact of benefit programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey benefit information to employees.
The ability to think strategically and align benefits programs with the organization's overall goals.
Effective negotiation skills for dealing with benefit providers and vendors.
The ability to build relationships with employees, management, and external partners.
Attention to detail is critical in benefits management to ensure accuracy and compliance.
