PURPOSE:

• Manage and direct the activities of the Materials department.
• Provide leadership in scheduling MRP, inventory control, shipping and receiving functions.
• Ensure customer satisfaction in product flow.

• Responsible for production scheduling, purchasing.
• Responsible for traffic and warehouse functions.
• Responsible for shipping and receiving in a J.I.T. environment.
• Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of AS400 series or other similar computer systems.

• Working knowledge of dock operations.
• Working knowledge of Inventory Control processes, FIFO, LIFO, etc.
• Ability to coach and mentor hourly employees.
• Professional with sound judgment in practical and sensitive matters.
• Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capacity.

• Bachelor degree in Business Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

• 5 years of more progressive responsible positions in Materials or related fields.

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills of MRP
• Computerized materials scheduling and inventory control.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills.

• Majority of the time is spent in an office environment with occasional plant tours and travel as needed.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• Standard work hours will consist of 8 hours per day, 5 days a week on an assigned shift.
• Schedule hours may be altered as required by the training needs of employees.
• Ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as requested.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
