The
Program Manager represents the company in planning, executing, reporting, and managing programs. This role provides direction and management for specific development and production contracts, supporting internal company efforts from inception to completion. Responsibilities include proposal preparation, negotiation support, program start-up, and establishing and monitoring program plans (budgets, schedules, and status reporting). The Program Manager ensures program progress aligns with support requirements, planning and directing engineering, contracts, operations, and support activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and administer assigned Programs, including program development and capture, proposal development, negotiations, and monitoring cost and schedule status.
- Ensure compliance with all Program, Contract, and Program Management Processes.
- Establish and update program plans and schedules, reporting on progress, deliverables, and performance.
- Ensure customer and internal performance objectives are met with minimal risk.
- Regularly update management on program schedule and financial status.
- Coordinate scope, budget, and schedule planning with functional organizations, tracking progress and identifying issues.
- Lead the Risk Management Team to identify, track, and quantify program-related risks and opportunities, establishing mitigation strategies.
- Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and external services such as consultants and legal counsel.
- Maintain continuous communication within the Product Line Team, functional departments, and division management.
- Lead or assist in marketing and proposal efforts for U.S. and foreign customers.
- Maintain accurate and well-documented program files, providing advice and guidance on program matters.
- Disseminate program-related information, facilitating communication and coordinating activities of functional departments to meet contract requirements.
- Develop and implement new program management directives for program and contract compliance and effective company management.
- Assist in developing systems and procedures for program management and resolving inter-departmental issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.S.c/B.Eng) and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience. An engineering background is preferred; M.S. or MBA is a plus.
- Experience managing contracts with the DoD and major prime contractors, proposal preparation, and FAR knowledge.
- Professional certification is a plus. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is required within 12-18 months of hire.
- Working knowledge of military/aerospace industry standards, contract management, and export administration.
- Experience preparing status reports and proposals.
COMPENSATION
Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, location, market, and business considerations. Pay range applicable only for California.
